Mendon-Upton Solarize Mass Plus is ready to roll and all Mendon and Upton residents and businesses are welcome to take advantage of affordable clean energy!

Local volunteers have been working for months with the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) to organize affordable, competitive and quality renewable energy options for Mendon and Upton residents/businesses. This program is a cooperative effort between the state, local officials, clean energy technology installers, volunteers, and residents coming together to spread the word on the environmental and economic benefits of clean energy technologies.

Installers have been selected for six environmentally-friendly technologies listed below. The installers have been technically reviewed by the Cadmus Group, a MA-based third-party technical consultant, and assessed for quality and service by MassCEC. The final vetting process and ultimately the selection was done by the local Mendon-Upton volunteers to pick installers that would meet local needs. The Solarize team was extremely happy with the quality of the installers chosen. Any installer had the opportunity to become involved with the program. All of the technologies have some financial incentives, credits, loans and/or rebates.

Solar PV- ACE Solar

Never pay an electric bill again or greatly reduce your electric bill and reduce CO2 emissions. You can own or lease your system. Ten percent of your neighbors have solar; ask them how they like it.

Solar Battery Storage – ACE Solar

Batteries can provide power during electrical outages (quietly, unlike gas generators) and reduce your reliance on the grid when the sun is not shining, which can help improve grid efficiency.

Electric Vehicles (EV) – Green Energy Consumers Alliance (GECA)

With some electric cars going over 250 miles per an overnight charge (which you can do in the convenience of your garage), EVs are practical for many people. Once you drive an EV, you will not want to turn back. GECA will make buying the right EV for you easy and affordable.

Solar Hot Water – RES Solar

Solar hot water is extremely energy efficient and can cut your hot water bills by 90%. Solar hot water can complement Solar PV and can sometimes be effective where solar PV is not.

Air-Source Heat Pumps for Heating and Cooling – Boucher Energy Systems

Air-source systems are very energy efficient and can be ductless or with ductwork. It can heat or cool a whole house or just one room depending on your needs.

Ground-Source Pumps for Heating and Cooling – Achieve Renewable Energy

Also known as a geothermal heat pump, it is the most efficient heating and cooling system available and is extremely reliable even on the coldest days.
